Job Summary:
Provides accounting support for the Parent Company and all Subsidiaries in accordance with Homewood’s standards and practices.
Essential Functions:
1. Treats all information about residents, their condition, and family as well as personnel matters as confidential information.
2. Complies with established Corporate and Departmental policies and procedures and maintains established standards and practices.
3. Assists with general ledger chart of accounts maintenance:
a. Maintains master lists of general ledger accounts added to financial reports.
b. Compiles master chart of account list with vendors identified for each subsidiary organization.
4. Assists with implementation of paperless accounts payable software:
a. Digitize incoming paper invoices.
b. Assist in setup of coding for automatic invoice processing.
5. Assists with improving capital expenditure process:
a. Scanning capital approvals and capital invoices for audit preparation.
b. Updating capital tracking spreadsheets and reconciling to the general ledger.
6. Performs additional department support on an ongoing basis:
a. Assist with general ledger coding of accounts payable, donations and cash receipts.
b. Organize invoices for weekly accounts payable check run.
7. Assists other accounting staff as necessary.
8. Performs other functions as directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
1. High School Diploma with basic accounting courses.
2. Pursuing Degree in Accounting. Completion of Principles of Accounting I and II courses.
3. Experience with Microsoft Office products, particularly an intermediate knowledge of Excel.
4. Self-motivated, accurate, detail and deadline oriented.
5. Ability to respond in a cheerful, pleasant, and professional manner to all persons. Good communication skills and able to work well with others.
