About this Position:

Developing and executing product and business strategy in a world of rapid technological and social change requires a highly capable, highly knowledgeable, and highly engaged team. CASE and Energy Business Unit is tasked with navigating the path for Honda's future Connected, Autonomous, Shared, Electric, and Energy products, services, and businesses. The team will focus on building and sustaining Honda's core brand values and enhancing brand image and competitiveness in the marketplace by innovating, incubating, selecting, developing, applying, and operating new businesses, features, products, and services with responsibility for their profitability, competitiveness, and customer satisfaction for Honda in North America.

This senior business development lead role is responsible for cutting edge connected service focusing on utility program business development, Open Vehicle Grid Integration Platform business, V1G services and its enhancement and IT development. This role is responsible for researching, developing, and applying new CASE and charging solutions in the market, HondaLink/AcuraLink charging services and solutions. It is accountable for the business and technical competence of the strategies that are developed. This position is tasked to lead a unit team and daily execution of EV Charging and New Energy Business Initiatives to provide new value for customers through the use of managed EV charging (V1G), LCFS and discharging (V2G or Vehicle-to-Grid) of electric vehicles to achieve Honda's 2030 Electrification Vision and 2050 Carbon Neutral Goal.

Focusing on future charging and energy buisness, as well as regulatory compliance supporting the operation and providing new value to the Customer, the Dealer, and AHM , the associate leads and supports tasked plans, executes, and reports on all planning and business aspects of the energy business. Executing on responsibility is a mandatory requirement to adhere to AHM's compliance requirements and manage the sustainability of the businesses. This requires frequent coordination and review of wide-ranging information, along with regular communication with external business partners providers, IT team, Product Planning, Service, Quality, Sales, Finance, Customer Experience, Law, HDMA ADD, Honda Motors, Honda Japan R&D and other pertinent business units.

Responsibilities include:

* New Business planning and execution (staff, budget, overall plan management)

* Managing and guiding staff and collaborating with other groups within CEBD to achieve necessary policy goals

* Communication and correlation with Honda internal stakeholders, such as other BUs in AHM, HM, HGPU, HME, etc

* Managing new business customer support operations

* Market research, features research, research into business models, electricity markets, compiling and reporting pilot program results, analysis, and synthesis into future strategy

Who we are seeking:

Required Experience:

* Minimum 10 years of related automotive and or utility industry experience, ideally in business development, business planning and execution

* Experience with developing sales channels, coordination with product planning, service, quality, sales, finance, customer experience, law, and other pertinent business units

* Experience with creating financial models to predict product and service sales

* 3 years experience leading a utility program

* Experience with complex it project (digital sales, app, server, partner) development.

* Good negotiation skills, adept at translating product value to business value.

* Capable of drafting and reviewing complex contracts, agreements, and detailed scopes of work

Required Education:

BA/BS in economics, marketing, market research, business or equivalent work experience

MBA is plus

Other job-specific skills:

* Excellent planning, negotiating, analytical, and presentation skills.

* Understanding of business model development required.

* Technical orientation and understanding is preferred.

* Knowledge of Honda operations - planning, R&D, manufacturing, sales, quality, service, and customer support is preferred

* PC proficiency with MS Office (PowerPoint, excel, word)

* Function in an agile project team as a product owner / LPL, scrum master / ALPL, or person-in-charge of a functional area for a project.

Additional Position Factors:

* Work is primarily conducted at an office desk. Some time is spent at test facilities for collaboration.

* Hybrid (office/home) work is available.

* Travel and overtime are occasionally required.
