What are the responsibilities and job description for the Account Rep - Parts position at Honda?
The Parts Division operates in 2 states (Ohio, SC). With the SAP implementation, both locations are consolidated under the Division level control. The purpose of this role is to manage operations as it relates to items that directly affect our P&L or Balance Sheet. Follow Division controls & procedures for operations to ensure correct financial results for transactional activity (Sales & COGS properly recorded), Proper Inventory processes followed, Proper SOX controls followed & support identifying and implementing new processes for division efficiencies and improvement. These key activities and controls directly affect our financial results and business targets.
This role is responsible for managing proper transactions within the sales and operations teams and facilitating clean month-end closing and reporting.
- Coordinate activities for end of month financials, supporting both Parts & Machinery Divisions.
- Leads activity to run month-end reports.
- Reviews and investigate open items and outputs for accuracy.
- Understands and is able to analyze postings in various GL accounts and ensure proper recording.
- Resolves errors and adjusts the closing documents accordingly to support proper controls.
- Provide training and support to team members related to operational issues or concerns.
- Assist in issue resolution for inventory discrepancies in financial system.
- Coordinate proper procedures for atypical transactions such as Debit/Credit Memo processing and inventory scraps.
- Review and coordinate resolution for aged receivables for both Parts & Machinery Divisions.
- Review, analyse and distribute reports for past due receivable items to associates.
- Provide weekly status updates to Accounting Department for aged items and escalate issues as required.
- Coordinate with various associates on aged item resolution and track progress.
- Assist in preparation of monthly reports for Executive leadership regarding AR collection status.
- Review processes and transactions for proper Governance controls for the Divisions. (Parts & Machinery Regional controls)
- SOX Controls: Support annual review of controls, support collection of documentation during testing cycles & conduct needed training of all SOX controls to both Parts and Machinery division.
- Continuous improvement initiatives & activities and special project/analyses as assigned.
- 2-4 years’ experience in accounting or accounting related activity (see min above)
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Supply Chain Management or other applicable field with 2-4 years’ experience or High School diploma with 6-8 years of similar accounting & financial analysis related work experience
- General accounting experience including inventory control, SOX, and financial reporting & analysis.
- SAP, Microsoft suite proficiency (excel, word, ppt)
- Financial analysis skills applied to department operations and HTNA balance sheet and income statements.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- BASIC SUPPLY CHAIN PRINCIPLES FAMILIARITY (INCOTERMS, USMCA, INTERNATIONAL TRADE)
