Front desk coordinator

Performs medical office reception duties to provide outstanding service to patients, including greeting patients and visitors, answering telephones, scheduling appointments, obtaining photo identification and insurance cards, maintaining the reception workspace and lobby areas, coordinating the flow of incoming patients, informing the back staff of specific patient needs and collecting payments due.

Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Answers telephone: screens, perform triage, and routes calls. Takes accurate messages, answers questions regarding hours of operation, location of practice, services provided, fees, verification of insurance benefits, financial questions, etc.
  • Maintains medical records, HIPAA documentation including letters, photos, office notes, referrals as assigned
  • Enters patient data into EMR database and appointments into scheduling system. Organizes daily patient flow. Notifies back office of arrivals.
  • Maintains tracking list of no shows, cancellations, late arrivals and missed appointments.
  • Informs patients of the office's payment policy and procedures, collects patient payments in accordance with the time of service payment policy
  • Works cooperatively with supervisors, co-workers, medical and back office staff and physicians to provide professional and high standards of patient service/care
  • Performs other related duties as needed and assigned.

Medical office receptionist experience preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
