We are looking for an exceptional Sr R&D Manager to lead and develop a talented team of scientists and technicians developing the next generation of advanced RF, Connectivity and Cybersecurity technology for the Honeywell Aerospace business. You will leverage your technical experience and skills to guide your team to investigate and solve challenging technical problems. You will use your leadership skills to motivate teams that are designing new or modifying existing products, parts, and processes. You will enable the team to identify urgent technology development needs by developing and executing a robust operating system. By collaborating with customers and broader engineering teams, you will balance team workload and drive exceptional team performance with high impact for the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Influence & challenge engineering teams to effectively solve complex engineering problems.
- Accelerate innovation and growth while leading a team of talented experienced scientists and engineers.
- Execute an operating system for identifying and solving high priority technology development needs across the Aerospace business portfolio.
- Partner with customers and broader engineering teams to ensure the resources and skills needed to drive business growth in RF, Connectivity and Cybersecurity technologies and products
- As a people leader you will focus on Honeywell’s five pillars of a successful leader:
- Burning Platform: Demonstration of developing and delivering a compelling burning platform for your department. Elements of the burning platform are 1) Who is the competition? 2) What needs to be done to win? 3) When does it need to be done?
- Employee Engagement: Drive employee engagement through activities that include, but are not limited to, strong performance feedback, coaching, reward and recognition, and regular touch point with your team through various channels to motivate and inform.
- Department Operations: Drive strong employee motivation to deliver on, and exceed key metrics tied to productivity and efficiency. Make tough decisions and have a high bar for performance.
- Project Engagement: Demonstration of staffing programs, estimating demand using available information, while working within the constructs of business financial constraints. Support project execution excellence, and work proposals and quotes within all constraints.
- GBE/Strategy/ Business Acumen: Demonstrate understanding of your part in the competitive landscape, including full interaction with the Global Business Enterprise, product strategies, customer strategies, and competitive intelligence.
