The Department of Biology at Hood College seeks an adjunct instructor to teach an introductory course in geographic information systems (GIS) for the spring semester which begins January 24, 2023. Under the general direction of the Biology Department Chair, the adjunct instructor will teach ENSP 103, a 4-credit course that introduces students to the role of GIS in spatial data analysis and planning. This course is open to students of all disciplines and focuses on the use of GIS software for creating, analyzing, visualizing, and illustrating spatial data in the context of a semester-long collaborative project. Candidates must possess a master’s degree in an appropriate science-related discipline and teaching experience is required.
