Under the general direction of the Chair, Department of Psychology and Counseling, the full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor will begin August 1, 2023. The Assistant Professor will possess a Ph.D. in Psychology (those who are ABD will also be considered) and be prepared to teach undergraduate and graduate courses, including specialty courses within their area of expertise, more general courses within the department, as well as courses within the Honors and first-year seminar programs. Candidates are expected to exhibit a strong commitment to excellence in teaching, as well as be able to involve students in their research area and participate in service.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
Technology Skills
Proficient in MS Office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), e-mail and Internet. Ability to learn new applications quickly including organization-wide information systems and department-specific software applications.
Language Skills
Proficient in office productivity suite software (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), e-mail, and Internet. Ability to use available instructional technology resources to effectively teach in a manner conducive to classroom presentation including, but not limited to, use of audio visual equipment, computer, educational software (e.g., Blackboard), statistical software (e.g., SPSS), etc.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts as appropriate for the discipline. Higher-level concepts may be required for some disciplines.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a number of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to work independently and as a member of a group in developing and executing project plans. Ability to work in theoretical arena and apply logic as appropriate.
