Human Resources Specialist Position-Beaumont
Hood Industries is looking for a Human Resource Specialist to join our team at our plywood mill in Beaumont, MS. This position will provide support to the mill’s HR department. The primary duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Performs diversified clerical and administrative activities in support of the mill’s human resources department.
Assists in the recruitment efforts including but not limited to internal job advancement and external job openings, interviewing, screening applicants, onboarding, etc.
Conducts background, drug testing, employee eligibility verifications.
Administers the mill’s leave of absence program to include FMLA leave requests and tracking.
Monitor and track employee time/attendance records for inconsistencies and provide guidance for correction process.
Updates employee files to document personnel actions and provides information for payroll and other uses.
Provides assistance with updating and/or preparing reports.
Communicates benefit information to employees and answers employees’ questions.
Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping human resource information confidential.
Examines employee files to answer inquired and provides information to authorized persons.
Coordinates processing of mill’s unemployment claims.
Administers and scores employment testing.
May facilitate and/or provide training to the workforce.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Previous time and attendance system (Kronos) experience and experience with applicant tracking software (JobVite) preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in HR administration or related field.
Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
