What are the responsibilities and job description for the Gatehouse Tech position at Hoosier Village?
POSITION SUMMARY
The gatehouse tech performs a variety of tasks including oversight of cameras, gate house and gate arms, gatehouse programs, and issuing of appropriate access tags for residents and staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs a variety of tasks such as monitoring surveillance equipment; equipment and access points; and permitting entry.
- Obtains help by notifying immediate supervisor and/or authorities.
- Prevent losses and damage by reporting irregularities, and informing violators of policy and procedures.
- Controls traffic by directing traffic
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities.
- Maintains the organization’s stability and reputation.
- Ensures operation of equipment by following manufacturer’s instructions; calling for repairs; and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Provides excellent customer service.
- Adheres to all company service and operating standards.
- Ensures that the immediate supervisor is aware of whereabouts when leaving the guardhouse.
- Performs snow and ice removal duties to keep the guardhouse walks clear.
- Maintains radio contact at all times with nursing staff/ maintenance night shift.
- In performance of assigned job duties, interacts with residents in a cheerful/positive manner and shall be respectful of resident’s personal belongings.
- Teamwork and participation: Maintains an effective relationship with all departments and professional staff; and participates on facility committees as assigned.
- Training requirements:
- Attends required in-service meetings and departmental staff meetings and completes any written, verbal, or visual requirements.
- Receives knowledge of and demonstrates ability to perform all emergency procedures including fire and safety, tornado, and disaster evacuation and participates in all subsequent emergency preparedness training exercises.
- Performs other duties as requested by the gatehouse supervisor/director of environmental services and/or the executive director.
MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATION – JOB RELATED SKILLS
At minimum, must be able to acquire sufficient knowledge and learn new skills through on-the-job training and instructions to satisfactorily meet job performance requirements at the end of the introductory period.
