As Southeast Orthopedic Specialists continues to grow, we are hiring a Full-Time Advanced Facilitator (II) to support our Southpark Clinic within St. Augustine, FL! Below are the functions and requirements needed to be considered for this role:
(II) or "TIER 2" - REPRESENTS THE INDIVIDUALS ABILITIY TO PERFORM THE TASKS LISTED ABOVE PERTAINING TO: DME, PHARMACY ASSISTANT, AND PHLEBOTOMY/VENIPUNCTURE **
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES
This position is responsible for various needs across ancillary services lines, including but not limited to: DME casting, splinting, dispensing, applying DME equipment per physicians’ orders, insurance verifications, dispensing pre-packaged medications, maintain dispensing inventory/records, and along with performing and maintaining administrative work.
Along with Venipuncture (based on clinic location) – drawing labs, working centrifuge, maintaining infection control standards, along with performing and maintain administrative work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
DME
- Apply and adjust fiberglass casts and assembles/attaches orthopedic braces as directed by the physician
- Educates patients on the proper care of casts/splints/DME items
- Knowledge of DME carried in clinic and the indications for each product
- Utilizes Motion MD software to maintain inventory, records of dispensing, and ordering
RX DISPENSING
- Runs insurance eligibility
- Prepares pre-packaged medications based on provider’s orders
- Verifies information on medications is complete and accurate
- Refers questions regarding prescriptions, drug information or health matters to a Physician
VENIPUNCTURE (Location Specific)
- Draws labs proficiently
- Adheres to infection control policies and standards
- Schedules patients for draws based on order

DME, RX DISPENSING, AND VENIPUNCTURE: COLLECTIVE TASKS
- Maintains logs, spreadsheets and records as required by the department
- Participates in training new staff, and attends staff meetings
- Manages and maintains inventory, such as ordering new supplies and organizing incoming shipments
- Functions in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines, and state and federal regulations
- Fosters a positive and professional clinic environment by interacting with all persons in a considerate, helpful, and courteous manner and by participating as a team member
- Maintains flexibility with scheduling and job assignments to cover patient needs
- Other duties as assigned by management

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
- High school diploma/GED, or equivalent working knowledge required
EXPERIENCE
- Applicable clinical and/or hospital experience, 1 year or more preferred
- Preferred minimum of one year phlebotomy experience (Medical practice experience helpful)
CERTIFICATION(S) - ** If Applicable **
- Current/Valid CPR certificate
- Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, Orthopedic Technician, and/or Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- General understanding of insurance benefits language
- Knowledge of clinic protocols and policies
- Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques
SKILLS
- Skill in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with physicians, clinic staff, and patients
- Skill in reasoning ability and good judgement; researching information; and critical thinking skills
- Effective time management
- Skill in performing efficient and effective draws.
- Work environment phone and computer skills are required
- Experience working in an EMR system
- Strong attention-to-detail
ABILITIES
- Ability to evaluate department/clinic inventory levels and report issues – DME, Rx and Lab
- Ability to communicate clearly and establish effective working relationships
- Ability to be comfortable performing multiple duties, activities and utilizing time effectively and self-directed
- Ability to recognize and adapt based on current need in clinic
- Effective time management abilities.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Active office environment with bending, twisting, standing, and lifting
- Some travel may be required
