Job Summary The Consumer Credit Analyst is responsible for timely risk analysis and packaging of new consumer loan requests. The position will also provide portfolio review and analysis for assigned requests for the consumer portfolio. Primary and Essential Functions
Leads and supports Strengthening HOPE Initiative that values an organizational culture for open communication, innovation, associate engagement and other traits that contribute to collaboration and high performance.
Work with consumer lending staff to assess risk of new credit requests and develop strategies to mitigate identified risk
Package and present consumer loan requests
Support branch staff in preparing all real estate documents including preliminary and closing documents
Provide general administrative support for the AVP of Consumer Lending
Adhere to departmental policies and procedures. Provide recommendations to manager on suggested updates
Secondary Functions
Perform general administrative duties such as attending meetings, report production, etc.
Assist with special projects as requested/assigned
Assist loan operations department with review of new loan files and tracking of all documentation exceptions
Assist loan operations with filing and maintenance of all loan files
Assist as needed in securing follow-up information and addressing post-closing issues to ensure that all consumer loan documentation is received and filed appropriately
Competencies/Skills
Strong computer skills, especially with financial spreadsheets and word processing
Ability to read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and employees of the organization
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent, and interpret data
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to evaluate creditworthiness from multiple structured and unstructured variables
Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field; business and/or graduate degree preferred
Some prior credit analysis and underwriting experience desired
Demonstrated strength in credit analysis, financial analysis, and communication skills (written and verbal)
