Music Teacher
Hope Lutheran School, A Classical Academy is seeking a Music Teacher for our school in Idaho Falls, ID. This position will begin August 29th, 2023. This is a part-time Teaching position Tuesdays and Thursdays, Afternoons, 6-10 hours a week dependent on preparation for the Christmas Program.
Requirements:
- A minimum of an Associate's degree in Music Education or Music Performance, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members.
- Must have the ability to manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive school environment.
- Ability to teach basic music theory, including intervals, scales, and their application to various musical styles.
- Ability to teach basic keyboard techniques including playing techniques such as fingering and playing positions.
- Involved in a local church of a Trinitarian Orthodox Christian faith (Lutheran, Baptist, Non-denominational, Catholic, etc.)
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in music theory, music performance, and music education for students in grades K-8.
- Encourage students to develop their musical interests through instrumental performances and lessons.
