YOUR PURPOSE


Member of the Accounting team that ensures accurate processing and recording of Credit Union payroll and expense reimbursement process. Performs a variety of entries and various support functions on behalf of the Credit Union. Works in conjunction with the others in the Accounting and Human Resources department, collaborates with internal and external partners to meet timelines and achieve goals.


YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR

  • Primary support for the accounting functions of payroll processing for the Credit Union. This includes working in conjunction with Human Resources to process semi-monthly payroll, accruing all monthly payroll taxes, quarterly reports, annual payroll reporting including W-2 and ACA forms, annual salary budget, analysis and breakdown of expenses by branch and department.  
  • Primary administrator of expense reimbursement process. Complies, sorts, and loads documents such as invoices, Visa receipts, and substantiating business transactions into applicable expense reporting and imaging software. Coding and routing invoices to appropriate approvers. 
  • Verifying and posting details of business transactions to general ledger and other tracking systems in support of the day-to-day credit union accounting operations. Operations may include reconciliation for settlement accounts, general ledger accounts, backing up Accounts Payable process and other accounting functions. 
  • Prepares moderately complex spreadsheets, charts and graphs as part of problem solving and/or reporting requests.  
  • Analyzes large amounts of data from various sources and organizes the data by creating and updating complex spreadsheets (Excel). Will utilize this data and analysis to recommend solutions, drive decisions, create reports and evaluate operational needs.
  • Participates in staff meetings and supports department with various projects. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned by department supervisors and managers.

Requirements

EXPERTISE YOU NEED

Education & Experience

At least two years post-secondary At least two years post-secondary education in accounting or finance preferred. Two plus years’ experience with any of the following: general ledger accounting (balance sheet and income statement accounts), payroll processing, accounts payable, cost accounting principles, and balancing and reconciling accounts is required. Credit Union, other financial institution or related work experience may be substituted for education. Advanced spreadsheet application (Excel) knowledge desired.

Compensation

The full pay range for this position across all the states in which we hire is $22.23-$33.35. The figures shown represent the minimum and maximum of the range for this role. Individual offers are made dependent upon a candidate’s experience, education, and skill level.

Occasionally an employee will lift/pull/push and carry up to 25 to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and be able to maintain balance doing these activities. Position requires sound reasoning, good judgement and ability to apply knowledge toward work activities. The noise level is moderate and typical of a normal office environment.
