YOUR PURPOSE
Assists Credit Union members and employees with administrative functions in regard to Share Draft accounts. Work is performed according to Credit Union and governmental policies and procedures. Will provide support to the branches with balancing checks and provide support to other departments with clerical duties as needed. Treats individuals with a positive and cooperative attitude and demonstrates Horizon Credit Union’s CORE values (Capability, Optimism, Responsibility, Empathy) when interacting with all individuals.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Processes share draft/checking account operations. This includes but is not limited to daily clearings, sending and receiving files from the FED, NSF transactions, research, auditing stop payment requests, balancing, check adjustments and savings bond processing.
- Communicates with employees and members via telephone and e-mail to process financial transactions in a courteous and efficient manner.
- Partners with Fraud team to process check forgery and fraud cases.
- Assists with Mobile Deposit and ATM Deposit processing, which includes auditing of checks, reviewing checks and the mobile deposit registration exception reports for approval or denial.
- Provides balancing and Share Draft data for Accounting and Marketing departments.
- Retrieves check copies, regular clearing and over the counter, as required and prepares temporary checks for branch operations.
- Processes Check Adjustments through the Federal Reserve for check deposits with encoding errors, paid item errors, or are unauthorized.
- Assists with Overdraft Privilege Program in line with current policies and procedures, monitoring, adding or removing accounts for eligibility in the program.
- Works closely with and serves as back up to the Share Draft Administrator.
- May be assigned to special projects as needed by the manager.

The full pay range for this position across all the states in which we hire is $15.75-$22.21. The figures shown represent the minimum and maximum of the range for this role. Individual offers are made dependent upon a candidate’s experience, education, and skill level.

Requirements
Education & Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); plus, six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Capabilities
- Working knowledge of most MS Office applications.
- Demonstrates strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of imaging systems and personal computer to access the credit union's records and accounting systems and member account information.
- Basic input, output, error correction, general ledger account structure knowledge.
- Ability to perform simple accounting tasks such as account reconciliation.
- Basic spreadsheet knowledge helpful.
ABLE TO
To perform the essential functions of this position an employee must be able to meet the following workplace demands: ability to converse with others, detect sound, identify and detect objects, count, read, write, operate a computer, handle and feel objects, reach with hands/arms and be stationary and/or stand and/or move for long periods of time. Occasionally an employee will lift/pull/push and carry up to 25 to 50 pounds, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb and be able to maintain balance doing these activities. Position requires sound reasoning, good judgment and ability to apply knowledge toward work activities. The noise level is moderate and typical of a normal office environment.
