Horizon Early Learning Program is seeking a positive and energetic team player to fill our Teacher Assistant role for our multi-age early learning program; working with children ages 1 to 5. The Teacher Assistant supports the Teachers and the Director by helping to create a caring and safe environment for the children and assisting in activities to improve the overall care and quality of education. The applicant must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Be comfortable assisting the staff in implementing quality early educational practices and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents. The Teacher Assistant observes and documents children's interest and progress, and relays that information back to lead staff. The Teacher Assistant is responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director. And the Teacher Assistant must be comfortable in organizing, setting up and cleaning the classroom, as well.
This position will be full time 40 hours per week (which may be flexible, ex: Monday 4 hours, and 9 hour shifts Tues - Fri) and included fringe benefits are paid holidays, snow days, full time weekly hourly equivalent in sick and vacation/personal pay, child care incentive for their own child, dental plan, and choice of retirement options, extra PTO, Health Care Stipend, etc.
