Job Description/Essential Functions:
Horizon House, a non-profit organization, has been widely recognized for its services as a provider of community-based behavioral health, intellectual disabled and homeless services in Eastern Pennsylvania and the state of Delaware. Each year, Horizon House provides a continuum of services at over 100 sites to over 4,5000 adults with psychiatric or developmental disabilities, drug and alcohol addictions, and/or homelessness. A pioneer in the field of community-based rehabilitation, Horizon House is widely recognized for its innovative approach to the delivery of services in a community setting. Currently, we are seeking full time Benefits Manager to work in our Fiscal Division.

We are looking for someone who is able to manage the accounting operations and systems.
Some duties to include:

Manage collective Representative Payee Account to ensure that individual client accounts are accurate and reconcile to collective account.
To monitor and assist the fund custodian with financial planning and management of Rep. Payee Account.
Serve as liaison between the client, benefit issuing agencies and the bank, when necessary; function as an advocate on behalf of the client.
Provide training and support to fund custodians concerning the implementation and monitoring of client fund transactions and related documentation methods.
To ensure compliance with all applicable laws, and regulations concerning client funds.
To assist in the development and implementation of Agency policy and procedure for managing accounts held by Horizon House.
Job Qualifications:

A successful applicant will have the following:

  • A.A. degree in Accounting, Human Services/Social Sciences, Healthcare or a related field and 2 years of related experience; or any combination of experience, education or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required.
  • Very good communication skills.
  • Very good analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently; detail oriented.
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices.

Scope:

  • Required sitting for long periods of time.
  • Light lifting and/or carrying, not to exceed 25 lbs.
  • Frequent talking and listening.
  • Manual dexterity.
