What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Assembly position at Hormann LLC?
Job Summary:
A production assembly position operates equipment within a production line in order to produce, assemble, or finish various designs and sizes of garage door components.
The candidate will also be accountable for the overall quality and storage of completed parts, the preparing of rejected material(s) for return to vendor(s) and the housekeeping of equipment and general work area(s).
Candidate will possess the ability or have the capacity to learn how to use a tape measure, micrometer, caliper, “feeler” gauge, and other mechanical tools as used in this position as well as any and all required safety devices necessary. Candidate will be required to interact with a production computer terminal and potentially be certified (or trained) to drive a forklift truck and operate a pallet jack, able to lift, carry and set up equipment by lifting tools or materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Candidate must be able to carry out any additional assignments as instructed by the supervisor.
The successful candidate will be a reliable, self-motivated, results-oriented individual who possesses and utilizes their strong organizational, technical and mechanical skills to motivate those around him/her through exemplary leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
- Conduct activities by adhering to established procedures and approved processes.
- Operate relevant production equipment or tools.
- Fulfill production orders, meet inventory requirements, and produce at the prescribed production rate(s).
- Capacity to develop knowledge of manufacturing methods, techniques, and related equipment and be able to apply this knowledge to the completion of work as assigned.
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Must become familiar with the product’s construction and application.
- Must promote a safe work environment.
- Assist in quality training of fellow employees.
- Other job duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Have a High School diploma, GED or equivalent with at least three years of progressive manufacturing experience.
- Have the flexibility to work on different shifts, when required, to meet production or project goals.

- Must be able to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and easily adapt to changing situations.
Essential Physical Functions:
- Be able to safely lift or move at least 50lbs.
- Be able to safely climb stairs or a ladder.
Equipment Used:
Tools and equipment along with specialized training if needed will be provided as required.
