What are the responsibilities and job description for the Surveyor position at Horrocks?

As a Surveyor, you will join our survey group in Spokane. Experience in land development and transportation projects is a must with skills in municipal projects a plus. Pay Range: $35-$45 hourly, depending on licensure and experience
Responsibilities, Expectations, and Duties:
- Office work would consist of client coordination, project scoping, research, estimating, coordinating field crews, data processing, calculations, and drafting. Must be willing and able to work in the field as needed.
- Must have the ability to pass Federal background check and screening for government access permitting.
- Candidate should have the ability to work extended hours from time to time.
- Proven leadership skills are essential; ability to train and direct staff on a project site.
- Strong communication skills with engineering teams on project sites and management.
- Applicant must have valid driver’s license.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
- Experience in construction staking, topographic surveys, route surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, right of way and boundary surveys, subdivisions, records of survey, programmatic control surveys, FEMA elevation certificates, and data management. Exposure to first and second order control surveys is a plus.
- Experience with Trimble S7 and Topcon GPS equipment and data collectors. Mobile and ground based lidar scanning experience a plus.
- The ideal candidate would possess a Professional Land Survey license or have the ability to acquire the license soon.
- Working knowledge of Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, MS Office and Excel. OPUS solution experience and point cloud exposure a plus.
- Working knowledge of Civil Engineering Design procedures and ISPWC standards a plus.
- Experience in using linework and coding for topographic and site surveys.
- Knowledge of OSHA and local safety standards.
- Prefer 8 years total survey experience, 2-3 years of which as a Survey Crew Chief.
