Position Summary:
The Engineering Technician position is accountable to set up and operate product test equipment, evaluate and test component / system performance and write reports summarizing the tests results. Job duties will also require using data acquisition equipment and supporting engineering related activities.
Responsibilities
Engineering Technician Responsibilities:
- Samples and tests in-house and vendor supplied components according to engineering evaluation request instructions.
- Works with design engineering staff to test parts under development and assemble and test product prototypes.
- Tests new parts designed to reduce costs to determine whether function will be affected.
- Evaluates new technologies and test methods to determine their effectiveness in uncovering weaknesses in existing or proposed designs.
- Performs housekeeping and maintenance duties related to work area.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Engineering Technician Qualifications:
- The position requires skills and knowledge consistent with that of two years of college or trade school or equivalent plus 2-3 years of technical or closely related experience. Good communications skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite along with strong electro-mechanical aptitude are paramount. Familiarity with PLC’s, C programming, data acquisition and controls experience is helpful, but not required. Note: equivalent education equals 2 years of closely related experience for 1 year of education.
Must be able to show legal authorization to work in the United States. No Visa sponsorship provided.
