Shop Assistant Manager
Job Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Shop Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machining and manufacturing, with proven leadership skills and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency. The Assistant Shop Manager will work closely with the Shop Manager to oversee daily operations, ensure optimal productivity, and maintain a safe working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily shop floor operations, including scheduling, workflow, and production planning.
- Supervise and support shop floor employees, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Monitor and maintain equipment, ensuring all machinery is in proper working condition and coordinating repairs as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with the Shop Manager to develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
- Assist in quality control processes, ensuring all products meet or exceed customer specifications.
- Communicate effectively with other departments, including sales, engineering, and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
- Handle administrative tasks as needed, such as timekeeping, record maintenance, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and equipment.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with manufacturing software (e.g., JobBOSS2) is a plus.
