House Autry Mills is currently in search of an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist. Accounts Payable Specialist provides financial, administrative, and clerical support by ensuring payments are completed and expenses are controlled by processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices according to established policies and procedures in an efficient, timely, and accurate manner. The position requires a self-starter who works well independently, has the flexibility to take on new opportunities to support other members of the finance team, and is looking to develop and grow along with House-Autry Mills.

Accounts Payable Specialist Duties:
- Verify proper authorization for payment and coding of invoices
- Manage vouchering process for Purchase Orders generated by Purchasing Department
- Maintain accounts payable subsidiary ledger by verifying and posting transactions
- Manage outstanding accounts payable balance and average days outstanding
- Maintain vendor files within financial software and back-up files
- Generate and distribute payments on a weekly basis
- Manage invoices to ensure timely payment, while capturing discounts, and maintaining cash flow
- Report weekly on the status of outstanding payables
- Accrue sales tax on invoices as applicable
- Gather and verify end-of-month expense reports, brokerage reports, and vending account balance
- Track asset purchases
- Manage lease schedules
- Generate various daily, weekly, monthly, and ad hoc inventory reports
- Assist with inventory cycle counts
- Perform other duties as assigned
Accounts Payable Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
- The Accounts Payable Specialist is required to read and understand technical and non-technical documents as relate to the company accounting systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of accounting
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office Suite of software; intermediate Excel skills
- Demonstrate sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- General math skills
- Assessment techniques of examining, questioning, evaluating, and reporting
- Ability to communicate information clearly
- Ability to work independently or as a team member
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationship
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
