What are the responsibilities and job description for the E-Commerce Account Assistant position at Houseables?

Position Summary 

At Housebales, we exist to make everyday life a little more convenient by procuring and designing high-quality household goods to be sold across the e-commerce sphere. The Content and Design Editor supports our purpose by creating, improving, and maintaining engaging content for our customers to drive sales. The Content and Design Editor will also impact the company's success by copywriting and editing images, designing email campaigns, and ensuring quality of all material.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Plan and develop site content, style, and layout for platforms including Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Etsy, Shopify, and Facebook
  • Ensure content is compelling and appealing for our customer base
  • Optimize, organize, modify, and update content across all marketplaces regularly
  • Research, gather and filter relevant keywords for products
  • Conduct product and competitor research to gain better understanding of features and specifications
  • Coordinate image editor assignments and schedules
  • Develop effective copy for product listings, email campaigns, and any customer-facing marketing materials
  • Shoot and edit product videos
  • Create email campaign marketing content
  • Collaborate with departments to align product and content strategies 
  • Perform quality control checks and perform edits as needed 
  • Utilize appropriate software to manipulate photos to achieve the highest quality 
  • Make basic HTML edits as needed
  • Manage launch deadlines 
  • Other duties as required

Education and Certifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism, Photography or a related field is preferred

Qualifications & Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in digital marketing, content management, image editing, or in a related role
  • Intermediate knowledge utilizing Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar software 
  • Proficient in utilizing MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and skilled in multitasking

  • Communicate and exchange accurate information clearly with others.  
  • Continuously able to interpret visual content displayed on a digital screen  
  • Must be able to lift, move, push, pull, or otherwise manipulate objects of at least 25 pounds
