What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Staff position at Housing First Minnesota?
The Artisan Home Tour by Parade of Homes is now accepting applications for Event Staff positions for the 2024 Summer Artisan Home Tour. The summer tour will feature 23 of the Twin Cities’ most artfully crafted custom-built million-dollar homes representing the vision and craftsmanship of some of the most respected and innovative homebuilders and remodelers in the metro area.
Interested individuals must be at least 18 years of age, have dependable transportation, a cell phone, an outgoing personality, experience operating an iPad, be comfortable working outdoors, and enjoy interacting with the public.
All selected individuals will be scheduled as either Ticket Taker or On-Call on the dates they are available.
Other positions are also available - Prep, Set-up/Tear-Down, Floater (see below for details). Please indicate if you have any interest in these positions.
These are short-term Independent Contractor positions. Selected individuals must attend an Orientation Training Session occurring in late May/early June 2024 (this training is paid), complete an Independent Contractor Agreement, successfully complete a background check, and submit a W-9.
Individuals that are available all 9 days of the tour and past staff will be given preference. Ticket Takers, Floaters, and On-Call must be available to work all hours listed.
Ticket Taker -
- Responsible for checking in attendees using iPads, selling and tracking onsite ticket sales, providing booties to attendees if needed, and managing sponsor and other show related materials.
- Some heavy lifting may be required.
- Pay - $15/hour
Floater -
- Travel to assigned homes to provide Ticket Taker staff with breaks, etc.
- Must be located in assigned zone at 11:30am on scheduled dates to assist with start of day operations at a home, etc.
- Scheduled until 6pm, but work may end earlier. Paid for actual hours worked.
- Pay - $15/hour, plus mileage
On-Call -
- Available on scheduled date to work as a Ticket Taker at a home or as a Floater at a moment's notice. May be originally scheduled as On-Call, but later scheduled at a home or float with advance notice.
- Be available by phone two hours prior to and following the tour. Must be available to work event hours on scheduled dates.
- If not called to work as a Ticket Taker or Floater, individual is paid a flat rate of $25. If called to work as a Ticket Taker or Floater on the same day, pay is as indicated above for each position, plus $25.
Prep -
- Assist with preparing and organizing supplies, etc. for the tour. Occurs prior to the tour on TBD dates at our office in Roseville. Some heavy lifting may be required.
- Pay - $20/hour
Set-up/Tear-Down -
- Travel to assigned homes to deliver/pick-up tour supplies, etc. Occurs both prior/after the tour.
- Requires heavy lifting (boxes of sponsor materials, check-in table, etc.)
- Pay - $20/hour, plus mileage
Summer 2024 Artisan Home Tour staffing dates and hours are:
- June 7-9, 2024 from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. (new homes only)
- June 14-16, 2024 from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. (new homes only)
- June 21-23, 2024 from 11:30 a.m.-6 p.m. (new and remodeled homes)
New and Remodeled Homes will be in the following communities (subject to change):
Afton, Arden Hills, Deephaven, Edina, Excelsior, Houlton (WI), Independence, Medina, Minneapolis, Minnetristra, Orono, Prior Lake, Wayzata, Woodbury
