What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Clerk position at Howard CDM?
Howard CDM is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join our Accounting/Finance Department. This is a great entry-level opportunity for a career-minded person who would enjoy working in a fun and fast-paced environment! The Accounting Clerk’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, accounts payable, accounting data entry, assisting the CFO with overflow work, and requests as they develop. The candidate must possess a positive attitude and be comfortable in an “all hands on deck” environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Assist with the maintenance of vendor files and other system files as required
· Provide invoices and payments are posted correctly and timely in accounting system
· Process vendor invoices and ensure accurate and timely payments
· Research and resolve account discrepancies
· Verify coding of invoices for payment on proper projects and accounts
· Prepare monthly credit card reports and reconciliations for management review
· Prepare weekly/monthly open invoice reports
· Generate checks and perform weekly check runs
· Assist with monthly and year-end closing
· Support day-today administrative needs and clerical duties
· Ensure that Howard CDM policies and procedures are followed

· At least 1 year of relatable experience or current enrollment/Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or economics preferred
