- You develop a community-driven course curriculum for adult education classes
- You plan, teach, and facilitate participatory events, seminars, workshops, for the public
- You have the technology know-how to assist customers with basic computer skills, searching the internet, downloading e-books, using e-resources and can assist at the copy/fax center
- You earn customer trust by providing thorough and efficient research assistance to the public
- You participate in system-wide planning projects, events, task forces, etc., as assigned

- You jump in where needed to perform other duties and special projects, as assigned

Requirements
Do you have what it takes:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum 3-5 years increasingly responsible supervisory experience
- People skills – ability to work effectively with others and enjoy it
- Demonstrated experience working with multi-cultural and diverse populations
- Ability to interact comfortably with customers of all ages
- Demonstrated ability to motivate people, lead committees and large groups
- Displays diplomacy and political acumen in all situations
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective, collaborative working relationships with diverse groups such as staff, the library community, partners, community leaders, and the public
- Outstanding management and leadership skills
- Superior writing and public speaking ability
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of customer service, and management techniques
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems, to develop new processes and procedures in response to changing customer expectations and system-wide goals
- Knowledge of the community and current events
- Tech savvy – ability to use programs/processes such as the Internet, electronic databases, office applications, as well as other library related programs
- Current valid driver’s license
Your job at the library will be active:
- You need to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, reach, and push/pull carts
- In addition, strenuous activity is required, such as carrying bags or boxes of books or arranging rooms for classes and events
- Some driving may be required
Additional Information:
- Position located at the Glenwood Branch
- Works under the supervision of the Branch Manager
- Full-time; 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Saturday, including two nights per week, alternating Fridays and Saturdays, and a maximum of three Sundays out of four
- Grade 12: Salary $54,077 - $94,825
- May be required to participate in LATI (Library Associate Training Institute)
