Job Description: Payroll Specialist

Position Summary:
Howard Leasing seeks a payroll specialist to join our growing team. We are looking for a knowledgeable payroll specialist to process and manage an assigned client case load. You will be required to calculate and enter hours, as well as manage employee records. This individual will also be required at times to process employee deductions.
Tasks:
* Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other sources.
* Review timesheets, work charts, wages computations, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies.
* Calculate hours and wages in accordance with federal and state laws with assistance of a computer system.
* Record employee information, such as exemptions, deductions, transfers, and resignations, to maintain and update payroll records.
* Issue and record adjustments to pay related to previous errors or retroactive increases and or decreases.
* Maintain client files pertaining to hours, shipping locations, human resource guidance, and payment management.
* Prepare reports for clients and internal management, finance department, etc.

Qualification Requirements:
* Proficient in Microsoft Office
* High school diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
* Payroll specialist experience preferred
* Bi-Lingual (Spanish and English) preferred
