We are looking for skilled Machine Operators to maintain and operate machinery. Ability to set-up and operate machines according to drawing specifications. Experience machining wood a strong plus. Pay rate adjusted based on level of experience and ability to set-up.

We are seeking applicants that have a steady work history with proven reliability along with references that will attest to your strong attention to detail and safety standards.

Being a team player is essential since all tasks will require close collaboration with co-workers. A spirit of continuous improvement is also important as our goal is to improve processes and production procedures to ensure that operations will be carried on smoothly to maximize efficiency and profits.

Responsibilities

• Assist and/or own machine set up
• Ability to start and run a production cycle with little supervision
• Utilize drawings, routings, and work instructions to perform quality inspection
• Control and adjust machine settings (e.g. speed)
• Monitor and maintain the condition of cutting tools
• Feed raw material or parts to semi-automated machines
• Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools
• Test operation of machines periodically
• Fix issues that might occur during the shift
• Check output to spot any machine-related mistakes or flaws
• Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
• Maintain activity logs
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals is required

Skills

• Proven reliability and experience as a machine operator
• Working knowledge of diverse high-speed machinery and measurement tools (caliper, micrometer etc.)
• Knowledge of CNC programming / machining, including the ability to read, understand, and edit basic programs a high benefit
• Understanding of production procedures
• Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
• Ability to interact and communicate in a collaborative environment
• Adherence to health and safety regulations (e.g. constant use of protective gear)
• Analytical skills
• Attention to detail
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Physical stamina and strength with the ability to stand for long periods of time
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
