What are the responsibilities and job description for the Controller position at Hoxton Circle?
I'm partnering with a highly reputable, established marketing agency that has grown into a global organization. The position is for a US Controller responsible for overseeing the accounting function while helping develop a financial strategy to manage the company’s significant growth while maintaining the core values and culture that the company was built on. You will need to implement rigorous processes while constantly searching for value in areas aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. This will require an individual with a strong background in accounting fundamentals and who is willing to be hands-on.
The position is located in the office Mon-Thursday and has the option to WFH each Friday.
The key areas of responsibilities include:
- Oversee the monthly closing process.
- Coordinate and manage external statutory audits and tax compliance.
- Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Participates in the budget and forecasting processes by establishing schedules; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommending plans.
- Provides status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Completes operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Ensure accurate completion of invoicing to US clients, US Payroll, receivables, and accounts payable. Leverage the new ERP system for efficiency.
- Team building: recruiting, selecting, orienting, developing, mentoring, and training employees.
- Coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Work with the CFO and management team to prepare monthly and quarterly updates to company stakeholders. Experienced with Balance Sheet Account Reconciliations and account analysis.
- A hands-on approach that ensures that the business operations are executed with clear transparency concerning their financial implications.
