Summary
Engaged in recording hours of work, processing time records, compiling payroll statistics, maintaining payroll control records, and calculating payrolls by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
* Compiles payroll data from the timekeeping system, lab administrators, employees, managers, and supervisors to prepare for biweekly processing of payroll
* Reviews wages computed and correct errors to ensure the accuracy of payroll
* Enters changes affecting net wages such as taxes, deductions, and pay rates and calculates retroactive pay
* Records data concerning the transfer of employees between departments
* Prepares and issues paychecks and manual checks
* Prepares reports of earnings, taxes, and deductions and creates custom reports
* Keeps records of leave of absence pay
* Enters all new hire and termination information into the HRIS payroll system
* Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures
* Directs preparation of government reports including annual W-2 forms and monthly DOL reports
* Audits payroll and HRIS system to ensure accuracy
* Pays monthly commissions and bonuses
* Reviews vacation balances for accuracy and sends biweekly reports to each lab and HQ supervisors
* Prepare biweekly 401(K) funding reports and be responsible for accurate and timely funding to the plans
* Processes all garnishments, child support payments, and tax levies
* Coordinates and sends all tax-related documents to tax filing service
* Prepares worker's compensation renewal reports and coordinates worker's compensation premium audits.
* Updates user accounts and security access for Ceridian Self-Service
* Serve as a backup to Benefits/HR administrator
* Assist with the processing of employee's quarterly bonus payments
* Assist with scanning employment paperwork into Dayforce notes and employees' electronic personnel files

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
High School Degree or two years to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and
procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Ceridian HRIS Payroll systems; Ceridian Dayforce HCM System, Oracle HCM System, or another Human Capital Management System. Multi-state payroll experience is required. Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office products including strong Microsoft Excel skills as well as other Microsoft Office Suite knowledge.
