For candidates based in New York State, this position typically pays between $24.75 - $26.71.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
Coordinate SQF related activities, documentation, and audits at the Vernon Plant. Work with employees and management to ensure all SQF activities are completed, as scheduled.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule and conduct annual review of the SQF program.
- Monitor, verify, and validate SQF systems.
- Conduct for plant and SQF activities, as needed.
- Coordinate HACCP and Quality Programs.
- Coordinate document review and change program.
- Enter holds into database.
- Order lab supplies and set up reoccurring preventative maintenance (PMs) in the lab.
- Review Tracegains for correct approved supplier COA's and documents.
- Lead and/or assist in traceability exercises, as needed.
- Promptly report all deviation issues to the FSQ Supervisor and FSQ Manager.
- Be an active member of the SQF team and participate in scheduled meetings.
- Maintain SQF Practitioner status and work as a backup for other plant SQF Practitioners, as needed.
- Work closely with other department employees, supervisors, and managers, to develop, maintain, and implement SQF systems.
- Support SQF by maintaining the Document Control Program and the Master List of Documents.
- Assist all departments in developing and maintaining SOP's.
- Perform audits for all SQF and other Food Safety and Food Quality formats.
- Perform chart and record review audits.
- Maintain, review, and distribute quality control records in a timely manner.
- Accept, suggest, and assist in the assignment and performance of special projects.
- Maintain all documented information as per SQF requirements.
- Understand and follow all safety procedures, always wear proper PPE, and never put yourself or other employees in harm's way.
- Send survey, generate appropriate email, to any new suppliers or a current supplier with a new manufacturing location and monitor to ensure they are completed.
- Pull reports and send appropriate guidance documents to suppliers.
- Reassess all suppliers at a minimum of every 3 years.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in dairy science preferred.
- At least 3 years of food manufacturing experience highly preferred.
- At least 1 year of experience working in a lab setting highly preferred.
- At least 2 years' experience with supplier monitoring preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication - verbal and written.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Able to anticipate and solve routine problems.

- Capable of handling time sensitive assignments simultaneously with strong sense of urgency.
