At the Illinois Primary Health Care Association, we educate, empower and advocate for Illinois’ community health centers so every person across the state can access the cutting-edge, compassionate care they need. We are searching for a collaborative expert in non-profit management to help us coordinate entrepreneurial programs and projects that support our membership.
The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for directing the organization's financial planning and accounting practices. The CFO will oversee and direct budgeting, audit, tax, accounting, purchasing, and long-range forecasting. In addition, the role will evaluate the organization’s financial position and issue periodic reports on the organization’s financial stability, liquidity, and growth as a critical member of our leadership team.

Our ideal candidate:
- Has a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A CPA is preferred.
- Has five to ten years of experience in non-profit financial management and accounting including grants management and reporting.
- Is mission-driven and a passionate not-for-profit leader, capable of inspiring results from a small-but-mighty team.
- Is skilled in interacting with peers/fellow leaders in developing strategic plans and financial planning components.
- Is comfortable partnering, as a member of the team, with program directors and other internal leaders to help conceptualize new programs as they are developed to run budget projections and scenarios.
- Moves easily between projects; is collaborative and adaptable to changing priorities; can wear the many hats that the members of a small but mighty team have to wear on a regular basis.
- Works easily with a diverse membership, staff and contacts including members, senior leadership and medical professionals, leading in an inclusive manner.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills, helping to communicate financial performance in easily understood terms.
- Is independent, organized, and results-driven as well as positive and customer-focused.

Budget: Our budgeted compensation for this position is in the range of $120-$140k
Job Type: Full-time; FLSA exempt
Job Location: Position is based in Springfield, Illinois with occasional travel as required.
