What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Maintenance Technician position at HRM Services?
We are looking for a Full Time Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility of preserving the good condition and functionality of premises. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly in a fast paced and detailed environment.
We are seeking an independent, hard working employee that is organized, detailed and understands the importance of communication and working together as a team. Must have dependable transportation. Employee may be required to travel between multiple properties. Mileage is paid at $.62 a mile in addition to wage.
Responsibilities
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
- Perform maintenance and installation of systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels, change filter furnaces etc.), assist in setup of systems and conduct repairs when necessary, maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
- Ability to navigate smart phone, electronic work orders and tablet
- Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, replace windows etc.)
- Willing to perform a variety of maintenance tasks including painting, HVAC troubleshooting, janitorial, inspections, landscaping, snow removal, etc.
Skills
- Proven experience as maintenance technician
- Communicate and partner with all levels of management as well as vendors
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
- Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Good physical condition and strength with a willingness to work overtime
- High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) is desired
