Its mission is to protect endangered species by supporting entrepreneurial conservationists who ensure people and wildlife coexist and thrive. WCN gives these leaders around the world access to donors and a range of resources and tools they need to be successful.

WCN’s dedicated and diverse team values the people and relationships behind conservation as much as the science and strategy to save wildlife. With an annual budget of over $30 million raised primarily from individuals, foundations, and corporate partners, WCN grants approximately $25 million to wildlife conservation organizations around the world and engages a lively community of supporters through online and in-person events.

Position Overview: Reporting to the Executive Director, the Corporate Partnerships Manager is accountable for developing and implementing a clear, measurable, and efficient strategy to grow a corporate partnership portfolio generating $3 to $5 million annually in support of WCN’s mission to protect endangered wildlife. The role works in close collaboration with all departments within WCN. While the key objectives of this position are revenue focused, all the activities of the Corporate Partnerships Manager are expected to be guided by what is in the best interests of the wildlife conservationists WCN supports and aligned with WCN’s values, mission and strategic priorities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Portfolio Development
  • Lead the expansion of WCN’s corporate partnership portfolio, including identifying and vetting prospects, closing deals, and ongoing relationship stewardship for potential renewals.
  • Develop and maintain revenue targets and other key performance indicators to assess effectiveness and foster growing support of WCN’s strategic priorities, including its programs and its conservation Partners around the world.
  • Increase the number of corporate donors, as well as the total dollars raised, with a special focus on 6 and 7 figure opportunities.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all communication from prospective and existing corporate partners.
Management and Communication
  • Develop and maintain strong and efficient internal processes to support the growth of the corporate partnership portfolio.
  • Oversee the development and compliance of corporate agreements and contracts.
  • Collaborate across all WCN teams and Conservation Partners to ensure a streamlined engagement and ongoing relationship (contractual engagements, story-telling, social media mentions, etc..).
  • Become a content expert on WCN’s programs and its Partners to represent their opportunities and successes to existing and prospective corporate partners.
  • Serve as an internal advocate for corporate partnerships objectives.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to get along and work effectively with others.
Qualifications:
  • Must be a relationship-builder with a record of successfully identifying, activating and stewarding multi-year multi-million dollar partnerships.
  • Must have a track record of successful collaboration with cross-functional and multi-partner teams.
  • Must have demonstrated success operating autonomously while simultaneously supporting team objectives.
  • Must have an outstanding ability to analyze and communicate opportunities to a variety of audiences.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience working in a similar role, or demonstrating the core competencies required.
  • Experience negotiating, drafting and ensuring the compliance of partnership agreements and contracts.
  • Natural storyteller with top exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience in putting together corporate decks and proposals.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive new revenue strategies to support revenue goals.
  • Experience in the non-profit sector preferred.
  • Knowledge of trends in the non-profit corporate partnerships sector, including cause marketing, corporate social responsibility, corporate sponsorships, customer and employee engagements, and other innovative funding mechanisms (e.g. use of blockchain technology).
  • Have a “customer” centric mindset.
  • Ability to navigate competing priorities to achieve goals and deadlines.
  • Understanding and commitment to WCN’s Values.
  • Passion for wildlife, community-based solutions and the environment.

Compensation and benefits: Compensation is based on qualifications and experience. In addition, benefits include medical, dental, vision insurance contributions, chiropractic/acupuncture, basic life insurance, AD&D, Health FSA and Dependent care (pre-tax payroll dollars), a retirement plan where WCN matches 100% of employee’s contribution up to 5% of employee’s salary, 11 paid holidays with 1 paid floating holiday, 15 days of paid vacation in the first year ( 1 day per year worked), paid sick leave, commuter benefits program, and an employee discount program.

Location: This position can be based remotely with the expectation that the Corporate Partnerships Manager will be able to engage with Bay Area colleagues in person or by zoom/phone as determined by the hiring manager.
