What are the responsibilities and job description for the GFX Surveillance position at HSBC?

This role sits within the US Markets and Securities Services (MSS) Surveillance Team, which is responsible for the identification and management of undesired risk activities including conduct risk and financial crime risk. They are responsible for integrating prescribed and required forms of surveillance, including trade, e-communication and audio surveillance, to identify potential misconduct of our staff and counterparties. The team consists of analysts who are Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) covering each asset class.

You will be responsible for:
- Providing subject matter expertise to support and drive the expansion of the Surveillance programs covering Global Foreign Exchange (GFX) and Commodities.
- Fostering a strong working relationship with key stakeholders across the three lines of defense and within the global Surveillance team.
- Identifying and investigating potential market abuse and misconduct risks and escalating those appropriately. This includes reviewing alerts generated by Surveillance processes and carrying out investigations as requested by regulators, senior management and/or businesses.
- Representing Surveillance on a variety of governance forums, clearly articulating issues, current coverage and transformation plans.
