As a Process Engineer at HSM, you will be at the forefront of our innovation efforts, responsible for the design and launch of new products and manufacturing processes. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful development and implementation of efficient and high-quality production processes.
Responsibilities
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and designing innovative solutions to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to implement process improvements and new technologies.
- Utilize process mapping and data analysis to identify bottlenecks, defects, and waste, and propose strategies to eliminate or reduce them.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize process workflows and reduce variation.
- Conduct feasibility studies for process changes and new equipment installations, evaluating the impact on production timelines and costs.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions, to ensure consistent and repeatable processes.
- Train and mentor production personnel on new processes and equipment, ensuring smooth implementation and adherence to best practices.
- Monitor and analyze production metrics, generating reports to track process performance, identify trends, and measure the effectiveness of process improvements.
- Collaborate with the materials management team to optimize materials flow and inventory management within the production processes.
- Ensure compliance with ISO certification standards and quality management requirements related to manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications in process engineering are a plus.
- Proven experience as a Process Engineer in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry. Minimum experience required 2-4 years.
- In-depth knowledge of process improvement methodologies, including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
- Proficiency in process mapping tools and data analysis software for identifying opportunities for optimization.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan and execute process improvement initiatives.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present process improvement recommendations.
- Familiarity with ISO certification standards and quality management systems is advantageous.
