What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tube Mill Tech position at HSM?
This description is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continual basis. It does not exclude other duties that may be assigned.)
Cut-Off Operations
- Set-up and operate Haven / Die changes / Maintenance / Quality Checks
- Apply banding material to bundles, and label / Set-up packaging racks.
- Visually inspect end cuts to ensure quality standards are maintained throughout the production.
- Assist Mill Operator with length adjustments on debur and de-dimple equipment.
- Assist Mill Operator with quality tests – (Cone and Wall to Wall) weld integrity tests.
- Operate forklift in accordance with HSM Solutions operational guidelines.
Entry Operations
- Review Production Work Order and calculate the number of coils needed to produce order.
- Load steel coils and feed into the accumulator to maintain continuous flow into the Mill
- Record data on Weld Inventory Log – QF-0033
- Perform TIG welding operations to join steel coils together.
- Spray paint butt welds and notify Mill Operator as the butt weld processes through the Mill.
- Maintain scarf and bead winding station. Removing excess scarf to scrap bin as needed.
- Assist Mill Operator with routine maintenance as required.
- Assist Mill Operator with new set-ups and tooling changes.
- Assist Mill Operator with ensuring all tools and equipment are put up at the end of the shift and that the area is clean and free of clutter.
- Operate forklift in accordance with HSM Solutions operational guidelines.
- Transfer inventory with TranCollector system
Additional Responsibilities:
- Squeegee excess water from around the work area as needed.
- Assist Mill Operator with routine maintenance / set-ups and tooling changes as required
- Assist Mill Operator with ensuring all tools and equipment are put up at the end of the shift and that the area is clean and free of clutter.
- Operate forklift in accordance with HSM Solutions operational guidelines.
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required for consideration.
Minimum of 6 months of previous work experience in a manufacturing setting preferred but not required (Prior work experience using micrometers, calipers, and various hand tools)
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
