Location: Alachua, Dixie, Gilchrist, Levy, Marion, Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Sumter, Bradford, Columbia, Hamilton, Suwannee, Union and Putnam counties within the state of Florida

Employment Type: Full‐Time

Salary: $60,000 ‐ $65,000; plus benefits

The Nurse‐Family Partnership (NFP) Nurse Home Visitor is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing services to women and their families eligible for the NFP Program. Nurse Home Visitors (NHV) are pivotal in transforming the lives of vulnerable babies, mothers and families by implementing and maintaining the fidelity of the NFP model. Our goal is that all children are healthy, families thrive, communities prosper, and the cycle of poverty is broken. Nurse home visitors report to the NFP Nurse Supervisor.

:

  • Provides home visits to pregnant women and their families eligible for the NFP Program.
  • Adheres to nursing process and the NFP evidence‐based model of home visitation.
  • Carries a caseload of 25‐30 clients.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evening and weekends
  • Able to complete duties under stress, deadlines, and while attending to multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Prolonged computer related exposure, as well as sitting and standing at workstations for long periods of time.
  • Work assignments will involve travel throughout designated area to multiple locations, including government and private agencies, private residences and community partner agencies.
  • Written and Verbal Communication ‐ NHVs need to communicate effectively, openly and consistently with their families, colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Time Management ‐ NHVs who can flexibly schedule and reschedule a day’s activities based on multiple factors.
  • Listening ‐ interactions between NHVs and clients depend on the NHVs ability to listen attentively and accurately to the client’s current experience.
  • Ability to impose structure ‐ in between and during home visits, NHVs must be able to create structure in moments of confusion, disorganization or crisis.
  • Self‐reflection ‐ Successful NHVs actively work to understand and address their personal bias, welcome feedback non‐defensively, and make good use of the reflective supervision provided.
  • Teaching ‐NVS’s Fundamentally enjoy teaching or contributing to the betterment of another person’s wellbeing.
  • Optimism and Hopefulness ‐ We want NHVs who believe people can change and improve their lives. We refer to this as a “growth mindset” about people vs. a “fixed mindset” about people. NHVs with a growth mindset believe that people can learn, change, grow and improve.
  • Relationship ‐ NHVs feel passionately about building and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of clients over an extended period of time (sometimes over 2 years).
  • Contribution to Public Health ‐ Successful NHVs often describe their commitment to serving
  • BSN required.
  • Current RN license (in good standing) required.
  • Current CPR required.
  • Two years recent experience in maternal/child health, public health, home visiting or mental/behavioral nursing preferred.
  • Home visiting experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Valid driver’s license and insured automobile required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Able to travel by air to Denver, CO for face‐to‐face* education sessions. Sessions are currently offered virtually.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
