General Manager

Hub & Spoke Diner seeks an experienced General Manager to lead the front of house team and help manage the overall operations of the restaurant. If you love the restaurant/ hospitality industry and have been looking for a local company where you can be a major contributor, this position is for you.
Job Responsibilities
- Our managers help drive excellence day-to-day and are helpful problem solvers for customers and employees.
- You will recruit, hire and train front of house staff on all aspects of the job from knowing the menu to providing outstanding customer service.
- As front of house manager, you’ll be responsible for scheduling the front of house team and ensuring proper staffing levels, and work closely with the chef to develop a positive partnership with the back of house team.
- You’ll direct the flow of the restaurant during the busiest times to optimize revenue to the fullest without sinking the ship.
-You will organize all details of the operation - from FOH inventory and ordering, to compliance with health & safety standards, to researching products or processes, to managing costs and improving profitability.
- You’ll work a schedule of Thurs-Mon (Tues & Wed off), including filling in for specific roles when we’re short staffed, but our daytime hours mean no evening or late-night shifts
You’re a Great Fit for This Role If
- You have 5 years work experience as a full-service restaurant manager, full-service restaurant general manager, full-service hospitality manager or similar role.
- You’re energized by people, work well in a team, and can communicate effectively with employees and customers in person, on the phone, and in writing.
- You love to help and will go to great lengths to provide outstanding customer service.
- You have strong food and beverage knowledge and willingness to learn more, with the ability to remember and recall ingredients and dishes to inform customers and wait staff.
- Attention to detail is something you’re known for.
- You’re resilient and can solve problems under pressure. You know growth comes from embracing challenging and unpredictable days.
- You understand that running a great business means running a profitable business, and you look for ways to improve revenue and profitability.
- You have solid computer skills. Familiarity with restaurant management software (Toast POS) and third-party delivery platforms (GrubHub & DoorDash) is a plus.
Compensation & Perks
-Salary $65,000 - $75,000 a year, depending on experience

We love creating new versions of old classics, but our preparation is still old-school. Our from-scratch kitchen team still cuts veggies by hand, makes sauces and dressings from scratch, and works with local businesses and suppliers for quality products and services.
Hub & Spoke Diner serves breakfast, lunch and brunch, plus wine, beer, spirits, craft cocktails and our famous boozy shakes. We also have a full espresso bar and coffee shop inside the diner.

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Compensation is $31.00 - $36.00/hour.
