VICTIM ADVOCATE (Onsite)
Victim Advocates at Hubbard House provide vital lifesaving, life-changing support to victims of domestic violence and their families. Victim Advocates assist with safety planning, crisis intervention, housing, job searches, and making connections with other community organizations. Hubbard House will provide training to help you become the world-changer you want to be.
Hubbard House is looking for people passionate about making a difference in the lives of victims and their families. We are looking for candidates with strong relationship-building skills and who believe in putting the needs of clients first.
Full-time and part-time positions available. Hours are typically between 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM, Monday-Friday with some evenings and weekends. Hubbard House, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
WORK EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
HS diploma or GED considered with at least two years applicable experience preferably working with families in crisis. Familiarity with Microsoft Office (or equivalent) and data entry.
Must be able to read, write and speak English. A valid driver's license and dependable transportation required. Vehicle insurance must be maintained. Must meet eligibility requirements for Hubbard House, Inc. vehicle insurance coverage. Must be able to produce proof of eligibility to work in the United States (E-Verify).
Due to the serious nature of our mission, applicants chosen to move forward in the hiring process must submit to the following: 1) a level-2 background screening which includes a criminal background check through the Department of Family and Children (DCF), Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), and the National Sex Offender Registry (at a minimum); 2) a motor vehicle report (MVR) is also run against the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV); and 3) a drug, alcohol, and TB screening.
Experience in one or more of the following is a plus: sexual assault, domestic violence programs, bi-lingual.
