Wellborn Forest Cabinetry is hiring a Buyer in Alexander City, Alabama.
Job Summary: We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our team. The Buyer will be responsible for managing the purchase order process, sourcing approved goods and services from vendors, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials. The ideal candidate should have strong negotiation skills, excellent communication abilities, and a keen eye for identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Wellborn Forest, a member of the HCI Portfolio, is a designer and manufacturer of semi-custom wood kitchen and bath cabinets serving the single-family residential market exclusively through the dealer channel.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Source approved goods and services from vendors and manage the purchase order process.
- Identify and evaluate suppliers, negotiate terms, and establish favorable agreements.
- Coordinate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications.
- Monitor inventory levels, analyze demand patterns, and determine appropriate replenishment schedules.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable and high-quality product delivery.
- Continuously evaluate supplier performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate production component ordering.
- Work closely with the Warehouse team to identify space requirements and optimize inventory storage.
- Collaborate with Finance and Marketing departments to address any required corrections or adjustments.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred or compensating years of experience.
- Prior experience as a Buyer, preferably in [industry].
- Relevant certifications, system experience, and training.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office suite.
