Great Lakes Dental Partners is hiring a Senior Accountant for a full-time position onsite in Chicago, IL.
The role of the Senior Accountant is to execute complex general ledger account reconciliations, accurate reporting, and data verification, enabling the Controller and CFO to analyze options and make financial decisions aligned with company objectives. Further objectives are to drive GLDP’s month-end financial close process and manage the general ledger pursuant to GAAP reporting.

1. Establish financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying, and reporting financial information, and managing accounting staff
2. Achieve accounting operational objectives by contributing accounting information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining system improvements; and implementing change
3. Meet accounting financial objectives by participating in forecasting requirements, preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
4. Maintains lease accounting software and updates/inputs changes to leasing agreements to support monthly balance sheet reconciliations for leases.
5. Confirms financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses; coordinating the collection, consolidation, and evaluation of financial data; and preparing special reports
6. Maintain daily treasury / banking functions (sweeps, wires, payments)
7. Maintain accounting controls by establishing a chart of accounts and defining accounting policies and procedures
8. Maintain financial security by establishing internal controls
9. Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy and applying observations and recommendations to operational issues.
10. Partner with the Controller to lead year-end financial statement audit & reporting process
11. Partner with the Controller to oversee completion of year-end 401(k) audit and tax filings (e.g., P.C. returns, K1s etc.)
12. Assist with special projects, ad hoc requests, and process improvements as requested by the Controller

Skills & Qualifications:
1. 2-4 years of experience in a public accounting firm

3. Ability and willingness to maintain confidentiality
4. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize efficiently
5. Experience leading a project and/or an accounting team
Education:
1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance Preferred Qualifications:
2. CPA designation (Active or Inactive)
