Body Shop Buffer Job Description:
The Huffines Body Shop Buffer is a skilled craftsperson responsible for polishing and nibbing minor imperfections after vehicles have been painted. The Body Shop Buffer is responsible for the final stage of the automotive refinishing process, ensuring that vehicles leave our shop with a flawless and polished appearance.
Body Shop Buffer Responsibilities:
- Utilize various tools and equipment, such as buffing machines, polishing compounds, and sandpaper, to remove imperfections from the vehicle's surface and achieve a smooth, glossy finish
- Prepare vehicle surfaces by cleaning, masking, and sanding as needed to ensure the best results during the buffing process
- Conduct thorough inspections to identify any remaining imperfections, such as swirl marks, scratches, or blemishes, and address them to meet quality standards
- Ensure that the paint color and finish match the vehicle's original specifications, and make any necessary adjustments to achieve consistency
- Follows all shop policies and procedures as well as safety standards and environmental regulations
- Helps maintain shop appearance
- Ensures the shop runs efficiently by performing duties such as inventory stocking and other general functions
- Performs other duties as assigned
Body Shop Buffer Requirements:
- Minimum One Year experience
- Some post-secondary automotive training
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others and be a team player
- Results-oriented self-starter
- Attention to detail and an eye for perfection
- Unrestricted driver license and clean driving record
- Strong technical performance record
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to delivering world-class customer service
- Experienced applicants should possess tools of the trade
- Demonstrated desire to learn new processes and adapt quickly
- Proficiency in computer skills
