Responsibilities:

  • Full scope month-end close, reconciliations, general ledger, adjusting entries, accruals, etc.
  • Monthly financial statements on cash and accrual basis
  • Y/E close – Preparation of work papers for tax return, adjusting entries, profit allocation, etc.
  • Prepare schedules related to billable hours, utilization, realization, WIP reserves, and other KPIs
  • Work with department heads/COO to prepare annual budgeting and forecasting
  • Handle treasury functions as well as cash management/forecasting and banking communication
  • Serve as administrator for various accounting packages, training of staff as needed
  • Supervise, train, develop one direct report responsible for AP/AR. Act as backup when required.
  • Prepare various employee/partner metrics for annual performance reviews
  • Complete multiple annual industry benchmarking surveys
  • Prepare various annual 1099s
  • Prepare employee originations, commissions, employee bonus calculations
  • File quarterly use tax, quarterly state tax payments, partner tax distributions, profit distributions
  • Assist COO with annual insurance renewals and state licensure
  • Assist/lead implementation and continuous improvement of 3rd party data analytics/BI reporting
  • Ad hoc projects for COO/Executive Committee including detailed analysis on specific revenue streams or lines of business.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and minimum 5 years of related experience required.
  • Expert level Excel required. (pivot tables, v/h lookup, index/match, conditional formatting, etc.)
  • Knowledge of accounting systems including QuickBooks (required), Bill.com, and Expensify (or similar)
  • Working knowledge of PowerPivot/BI, MS Access, Crystal Reports, or relational databases a strong plus.
  • Working knowledge of CCH Practice Management and CCH Engagement a plus
  • Experience in professional service firms preferred.
