Summary:
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for overseeing the HR team to ensure best practice HR initiatives are in-motion and with the HR team in the planning, organizing, and implementing of HR initiatives, employee relations activity, HR investigations, and serve as a resource to clinic managers and supervisors. This position will also assist the HR Director with special projects as they arise.
Responsibilities:
Will participate and maintain a culture within The Corvallis Clinic consistent with the content outlined in the Service and Behavioral Standards Handbook. To this end, employee will be expected to read, have familiarity, and embrace the principles contained within.
Develops and guides the mentoring program for new hire employee through their first 90 days of employment.
Participate in the Human Resources procedural training of new supervisors and managers within The Clinic. Offers continual support and advises managers and supervisors on different procedures pertaining to staff employment and relationship management.
Assist the Human Resources Director annually in reviewing pay rates and market surveys to ensure pay is equitable to other facilities locally, regionally, and nationally.
Conduct investigations timely maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. Communicate appropriately to all involved parties. Provide detailed, thorough documentation.
Revise and maintain all job descriptions, HR policies, and the Employee Handbook.
Participate in committees where HR representation is appropriate.
Provides coaching, counseling, and training for staff.
Maintain, monitor, and deliver department metrics.
Serve as backup for other HR functions.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, licensure, and experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field required
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Human Resources role with evidence of increasing responsibility.
PHR or SHRM-CP certification required
Previous experience in healthcare preferred
Knowledge and experience with Lean practice a plus.
Knowledge and skills:
Excellent judgement and decision-making ability; strong problem-solver
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of State and Federal Employment and Labor Laws.
Detailed planning, organizational ability. Able to stay on task and perform productively.
Self-motivated, and results driven. Possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Knowledge of State and Federal Employment and Labor Laws.
Prior experience working with data bases and HR/Payroll software including HRIS, ATS, excel, etc.
Professional appearance and manner.
Computer savvy, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to work in emotionally charged situations, negotiate effectively, be a team player.
