This position will work within the ESS Business Intelligence team. This team is focused on gathering and documenting data requirements for Data Science, Data Consulting, Data Visualization and Reporting.
Responsibilities
The Business Intelligence Lead describes the tools, technologies, applications and practices used to collect, integrate, analyze, and present an organization's raw data in order to create insightful and actionable business information. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.
The ideal candidate will have:
Establish and lead the data governance team within the retail services space to ensure that processes rules, requirements and deficiencies in data.
Monitor and provide oversight to ensure that the data governance processes are adhered to.
Collaborate with the Data Governance lead and Data Governance Representative to advise the board with insight and guidance to make informed decisions that would move the organization to a higher level of maturity.
Ability to interact with business and IT departments in understanding user needs.
Able to translate the business needs to technical requirements in terms of data needs.
Managing appropriate use and definition of service data.
Develop data requirements for system enhancement.
Experience in performing in-depth data analysis to derive insights that drives business outcomes and decisions.
Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills.
Be an innovative thinker with an innate curiosity around data.
Be self-motivated and possess the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience in problem analysis and process documentation.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Data Science, IT or related field.
8 years’ experience in a Data and/or Analytics role in the technical realm.
2 years of project management and/or people leadership.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
Experience in assessing complex data sets and performing root cause analysis.
Experience in leading the management of data with an eye for data quality and compliance of data standards.
Ability to balance competing priorities to drive for the best outcome.
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.
Experience in working across various levels of management to address conflicting viewpoints with the goal of arriving at mutually satisfactory agreements.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
Knowledge of the healthcare insurance industry.
Data stewardship experience a plus.
Previous experience with call center platforms a plus.
Azure Certifications a plus.
Experience with Data Taxonomy Development.
Knowledge of Database structure design.
