Humana IT's Quality, Automation, and Modernization (QAM) area is looking for a passionate process-oriented IT person who loves to solve customer problems! We're focused on making our engineering practices at Humana more simple, more modern, and more automated. In this role, you’ll play a crucial role in understanding our current level of modernization maturity and supporting teams as they learn and apply new modern technology practices. You'll work as part of a team of passionate experts to drive solutions to known challenges as we continuously seek to identify new process improvement opportunities for all of IT.Responsibilities
The QAM Technology Leadership Professional combines process improvement, customer centricity, and technical knowledge, skills, and experience to elevate engineering team patterns and practices across all of IT. Assesses engineer team’s current practices and inspires interest in modern approaches. Supports engineering teams as they seek resources to learn about modern solution delivery at Humana. Commits to timelines to complete assessments and follow ups, facilitates meetings to elicit information needed for the modernization maturity assessment, and documents all data learned. Interacts with engineering, quality, agile centers of excellence, process improvement, communication, and more to collaborate and continue to improve the modernization maturity assessment process and questionnaire. Will also contribute to overall IT delivery and SDLC improvement efforts by using process mapping and problem solving skills on a regular basis. Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas. Makes decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, and requires minimal direction and receives guidance where needed. Follows established guidelines/procedures. Additional assignments will be based on needs of the department, and will focus on the strategy of improving our IT engineering practices and patterns at Humana.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with coding and familiarity with technical terminology and its application
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across varying levels of personnel
- Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other Agile training or certification
- Six Sigma or other process improvement certification
Additional Information
To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:
- At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.
- Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.
- Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)
- Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
- Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
