Job Summary

HUMANAUT is in the market for a Producer who wants to help us with our mission: “We get good things inside people’s brains.” If you're right for this position then you love making things happen in a world where you've got a tight budget, looming deadlines and you can only count on one thing for certain -- things will never go exactly according to plan. 

Producers guide the development and lead the execution of video production at Humanaut from pre-production through post and final trafficking.  They work with Executive Producers to organize and communicate money allotted versus money spent throughout production. Producers have a working knowledge of every phase of commercial video production as well as an understanding of creative development in a traditional agency setting. They must understand back office production duties, including (but not limited to) music and talent licensing, union rate cards, production insurance process, payroll, and traffic sheet execution. They will ensure projects are completed within budget without sacrificing the creative that is the heart and soul of Humanaut.

Producers develop and maintain networks of production partners and day players.  They lead and counsel a revolving door of cast and crew above and below the line - and must be resourceful enough to make impossible ideas come to life on set - from creating functional kayaks out of garbage to rigging a working sink to the back of an electric moped (with drainage). Producers at Humanaut know how to get their hands dirty.

This is an in-office job based out of Chattanooga, TN with the possibility of travel to various shoot locations. 

Producer candidates should aspire to grow into Senior Producers and beyond!

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work alongside Executive Producers and Creative Directors at Humanaut
• Maintain daily contact across internal departments at Humanaut and outside contractors
• Book crews and organize shoot logistics
• Maintain records for all completed and in-progress work
• Coordinate travel and accommodations
• Arrange equipment purchasing and rentals
• Prepare and file contracts with vendors and talent
• Generate call sheets and budgets
• Responsible for Expense-Coding and Project Reconciliation

Qualifications and Skills:

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Exceptional multitasking skills
• Ability to troubleshoot, solve problems, and think proactively
• Willingness and ability to work irregular hours with little or no notice
• Ability to communicate clearly - verbally, visually, and in writing
• Strong project management skills
• Familiarity with AICP standards and guidelines
• Familiarity with SAG and union guidelines
• Proficient in Google Sheets and Excel; familiar with accounting software QBO, a plus
• Collaborative and proactive problem-solving skills
• 5-7 years experience in video production at a professional level
• A stellar attitude
