What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Assistant position at HumanEdge?
Glassware / Bottle Prep Assistant needed for laboratory located in mid-Westchester. Under supervision of professional laboratory personnel, the selected candidate in this position would be responsible for preparing various glassware and sample bottle supplies in support of laboratory operations.
- Capable of operating a variety of equipment such as sterilizing ovens, autoclaves, and, commercial dish/glassware washers
- Cleans and prepares laboratory glassware and pipettes, utilizing the various required techniques to prevent sample contamination
- Maintains an inventory of laboratory supplies related to specific bottle and vial types, ensures area is appropriately equipped with supplies
- May perform other incidental tasks, as needed.
- High school or equivalency diploma. Technical experience in an approved medical, hospital, university or public health laboratory is a plus, but not required as willing to train.
- Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed written procedures; ability to adapt techniques and procedures to select requirements and situations; ability to follow detailed oral and written instruction
