Responsibilities
- Design and architect new large-scale system and application cross cutting capabilities.
- Define overarching system target state characteristics, objectives and milestones.
- Facilitate vetting, rollout and adoption of new technologies and technical approaches whether originating from the Center of Excellence or from a Service Group team.
- Evangelize and promote technical best practices across Service Groups.
- Lead and facilitate Technical Center of Excellence activities.
- Define, perform and own the Technical Center of Excellence processes enabling the CoE to serve as an organizational tool to vet, promote and disseminate technical innovations and practices.
- Explore and evaluate new technologies to advance our SaaS platform and grow our business. Implement proof of concepts that exemplify appropriate use of the technologies.
- Provide practical technical guidance to product manager partners to increase the odds of overall initiative success.
- Coordinate technical issues impacting activities across teams.
- Adjudicate and establish community best technical practices and team SDLC guidelines
- Mentor and advocate for mentoring across the overall technology team.
- Lead the design and implementation meeting cross functional requirements
- Establish and maintain design and review best practices to guide multiple teams. Advocate for the voice of engineering.

Education and experience
- 5 years of software development / technical leadership experience
- MS/BS in Software Engineering or related discipline
Technical skills
- Experience programming in Java
- Experience with microservice development is a plus
- Experience programming with Javascript frameworks like Angular and Ember
- Experience in web application development
- Understanding of relational databases such as MS SQL Server
- Experience with non relational databases like MongoDB is a plus
- Familiarity with Agile process
- Passion for learning new technologies
- Experience with IaaS & PaaS from a cloud vendor is a plus. Azure preferred.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
