Hunter Douglas is actively seeking experienced “Independent”(1099) Window Covering Installers who through their own business are looking to help bolster their workload by becoming a member of the Hunter Douglas Installation Service (HDIS) network. Once accepted into the HDIS Program, you’ll be recognized as an authorized service representative for Hunter Douglas.
Job Summary
A Hunter Douglas Installation Service (HDIS) installer is an independent business owner focused on commercial and consumer measuring and installation for Hunter Douglas brand window coverings for both commercial and consumer customers. As a partner, an HDIS installer may be contracted from time to time for repair services or to provide technical support for Hunter Douglas and or the Dealers & their clients. The HDIS Installer should be proficient in installing Hunter Douglas window covering products which may include Hunter Douglas shutters and motorization products.
Some HDIS Installer Requirements:
- General guidelines require 3 year’s minimum installation experience with all Hunter Douglas products including Custom Shutters and PowerRise/PowerView Motorization.
- A candidate will need to submit an application to join HDIS and participate in an interview with the Hunter Douglas Field Service team.
- In order to submit an application, the candidate will be required to create a “non-dealer login” & password to my.hunterdouglas.com and become a member of the Hunter Douglas Professional Installer Program (PIP).
- The candidate will need to be able to provide Hunter Douglas with a Certificate of Insurance (COI) for both General Liability & Auto Policy that lists Hunter Douglas as “Additional Insured”.
- The candidate will need to be licensed and bonded, according to local state regulations.
- The candidate will consent and pass a general background screen coordinated by Hunter Douglas.
Once activated:
- The installer will be required to manage services through a workforce management application on a mobile device to ensure timely communication with Hunter Douglas and the dealer requesting the service.
- The candidate will be encouraged to attend and complete Hunter Douglas training requirements and certification programs.

- Appearance – Meet minimum expectations ensuring their image and reputation is consistent with the Hunter Douglas brand.
- Adaptability – Ability to perform a variety of tasks and the ability to change assignment or direction on short notice.
- Communication – Able to express yourself clearly and effectively when working with dealers and their customers.
- Cooperation – Able to closely partner with Hunter Douglas and the dealers to achieve their program objectives and sales goals.
- Driving – Maintain State-issued Driver’s License, adhere to all laws and regulations and keep a satisfactory driving record.
- Planning – Establish a course of action to efficiently manage time and remain personally well organized.
